My daughter loves the box and it’s a such a highlight when she sees it at our door! The products are so varied and interesting and she and I are both always looking for new vegan items on the market. I’m planning of giving box subscriptions to friends as a gift this coming year...I don’t feel the need to research and see what other boxes are like..we really enjoy yours!!
Snacks can absolutely fit in your diet if you're trying to lose weight. Having ideas for healthy snacks to pack for work snacks, grab and go snacks, store-bought snacks and snacks you can make yourself will help vary the nutrients you get and keep you from going hangry between meals. I made those today with lime flavour. I wanted sour candy and didn’t have citric acid… but now it’s in a mold (same kind of mold you used) in the fridge. I tried to get it out of the mold, but it’s not possible. it breaks. So is there a better way to get it out or didn’t I use enough agar-agar? Or is it not long enough in the fridge yet… what did I do wrong?

For the second part, I made 3 different recipes. All of them are SUPER easy, a baby could make them. Well, not really but maybe five year olds could. These are so easy that they don’t even really constitute a written “recipe” but I’ll try to give you one anyway. It’s one of those weird things that when the recipe is too easy, it’s almost difficult to write a recipe… I don’t know if that makes sense lol.
Use this guide as a great starting point for a lot of healthy snacks (and a few that are not so healthy). Of course, you don't need to be vegan to enjoy some of these tasty snacks. These snacks are also great if you are heading to a potluck, office party, or school event. By bringing a vegan snack, you'll share a healthy option and something that someone who may be dairy-free, gluten-free, or vegan (or vegetarian) can happily enjoy.
Thanks for the links Celeste. One article says ALA can have anti-cancer properties (with regard to breast tissue). Another says ALA may reduce risk of heart disease while it could be a risk factor for prostate cancer. Confusing! The studies are 6-9 years old, so I’d be interested in seeing if more recent research has been done on this topic. It’s definitely worth looking into. Thanks for passing them along!

Don’t forget the easiest, healthiest snack of all: raw fruits and vegetables. Keep a fridge full of fresh produce and you’ll automatically be prompted to snack well. A few of my favourites are frozen grapes, cucumbers, carrots, snap peas, apples, bananas and in the summer fresh berries. You can always pair with them nuts and seeds to make a more substantial snack.
Oatmeal is a complex carb, meaning it helps fill you up without spiking your blood sugar. Plus, it's a good source of fiber and eating more fiber helps people lose weight and keep it off. While we think of it typically as breakfast, a small bowl of oats makes a hearty, filling and delicious snack. To make this snack more convenient-keep a packet or two of unsweetened instant oatmeal at your desk or make overnight oats in a mason jar.
When tomatoes are out of season, you can still make great bruschetta by breaking out a can. Slowly roasting canned whole tomatoes concentrates their flavors, and mixing them with basil and red wine vinegar as a topping for toast produces a delicious year-round snack. We like to rub the toasts with garlic before spooning on the tomatoes to get an extra layer of flavor.
To get them out of the molds I just run a knife along the edges and then tap the container upside down a few times on a table until it slides out. If it’s breaking, leaving it for another couple of hours in the fridge to make sure it’s really set will help though. You could also try slicing them in the molds and then popping them out one by one. Good luck!

Oh wow, I can’t decide which of these recipes looks the yummiest! I’ve already made quite a few of these, but I spotted a few that I hadn’t seen before and really need to try.
