Um… since when were fruit gummies NOT associated with NYE?? Haha. I must say, I do so appreciate the rigorous research you put into the perfect New Year’s recipe for us! 🙂 I like to think that the sugar coating resembles the sparkle of champagne. Nice random fact! Why am I not surprised that you knew of your fruit-sweetened calling before you could practically walk? 🙂 And good for your for sticking it to autocorrect until it just gave up. If “dummy” is saying something, then what is “mummy” telling you?? That’s a thinker, folks! Two flavors, one for each agar. I can get on board with that! Alright, before I forget my train of thought, I just wanted to say… these photos are INSANE. And by insane, of course, I mean AWESOME. These little fruit snacks came out so beautifully. Send me a batch or two? 🙂 xoxo
My all-time favourite cracker and quite possibly one of the top 3 recipes so far in 2012.  Endurance Crackers are extremely light and crispy while providing long-lasting energy. They are also vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, sugar-free, and oil-free to boot. Feel free to change up the seasonings and spices as you wish (see the comments in the original post for some ideas) and serve with protein-packed hummus for a snack that will fuel you for the long haul. Man, I wish I had some right now!
To get them out of the molds I just run a knife along the edges and then tap the container upside down a few times on a table until it slides out. If it’s breaking, leaving it for another couple of hours in the fridge to make sure it’s really set will help though. You could also try slicing them in the molds and then popping them out one by one. Good luck!
i thought you would also want to know that there is a virus attached to your blog–when i go to your blog from google search, a blinking alert shows up in the place where your blog address was and tells me that there are viruses on my computer and then tells me to clean it– i thought it was valid because it was from microsoft essentials–my spyware–but then it downloaded something–i just took it off my computer–thank goodness! also, some of your recipes won’t print–it tells me there is insufficient memory to print (error in page script)–on some of them but on others it prints fine. just wanted to let you know! thanks for the great ideas!!!

Carrots are always a great hydrating snack, but when you add tahini to the mix, you up the protein big time. "Carrots contains high levels of antioxidants, while tahini contains more protein than milk and most nuts," says Michael Kubyk, nutritionist and fitness trainer at Lake Austin Spa Resort. And the best part? The combo makes for an easy on-the-go snack.

The Mediterranean diet isn't just one of the healthiest in the world, it's also one of the most delicious. Plus, you can't beat eating a handful of olives for less than 100 calories. "This snack is packed with good-for-you fats from both the olives and the olive oil that will help keep you satisfied. Plus, tomatoes offer fiber, as well as cancer-fighting lycopene," says Amy Gorin, M.S., R.D.N., owner of Amy Gorin Nutrition in Jersey City, NJ. Slice the tomatoes in half, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
Chocolate-topped digestive biscuits from brands like McVitie's are great candidates for veganizing. Here, we rely on toasted sugar to provide depth of flavor in the absence of lactose, and use coconut oil to make a dairy-free dough that's easy to handle. A blend of all-purpose and whole wheat flour supplies the right combination of toasty flavor and crisp-yet-tender texture. Top with the high-quality vegan chocolate of your choice.
